Family Vangidae - Vangas & Allies [1]

The family Vangidae was historically restricted to a diverse and monophyletic set of Madagascan taxa. Molecular analyses support expansion of the family Vangidae to include the helmetshrikes (Prionopidae), woodshrikes and allies (Tephrodornithidae), and shrike-flycatchers (Megabyas and Bias, previously placed in the Platysteiridae) (Reddy et al. 2012; Jønsson et al. 2012, 2016; Fuchs et al. 2012; H&M 4; HBW).
